Photos from West Virginia

West Virginia was breathtaking. I can certainly understand why Mike and Sherry love it so much. I was a little nervous on the skinny mountain road leading to their house….especially when the shoulder disappeared and we were left with nothing but careful driving to keep us on the mountain! I did get used to the road before we left….although I’m grateful I never had to drive it.

The colors were gorgeous, maybe a week past peak since most of the reds were already on the ground. It had rained too……but I loved having the big leaves on the ground to walk through. This is my favorite season and I thoroughly enjoyed kicking up the leaves with the kids and Randy. We didn’t fill our day with tons of activities. We took pictures, went to Cranberry River where the boys skipped rocks, and came back to the house (after a trip to the small town grocery) for hot chocolate and board games in front of the fireplace. Doesn’t that paint the prettiest picture? Oh….and we did go into a larger town for supper Saturday night.

I don’t know if we will ever go back as a family. Mike has the house for sale and Katherine will go to college next fall. But the weekend created wonderful memories for us to tuck away.
