Spring Break 2013 April 1-5
Daniel was looking forward to spring break….no school. Hoping for pretty weather (since spring really didn’t want to show), and his first long distance trip solo to visit Katherine. I think it was the first day of break, he came down with a fever. That was pretty much his only symptom, but it kept him down. He felt like he was coming out of it the night before he was leaving for Durham and no fever that next morning so he went on….I left him go even though I was pretty sure the momentary lack of fever was just wishful thinking. It held off (or rather down) through the first day and he did enjoy making homemade pizza, hanging out at Katherine’s apartment, and playing on the computer. He went to a late breakfast/brunch with Katherine at Panera and crashed on the couch a while the next day before what would turn out to be a very long drive home. The alligator bridge was having work done causing a detour. The drive up for him wasn’t so bad but on the way home he forgot a turn or rather he didn't notice the gps had recalculated the original route home and was a good way to the bridge before he realized he would have to turn around for the detour. I think the final drive was something like eight hours instead of four and a half. Poor Daniel…………came home, fever back and crashed again until school started when he was finally feeling better. Except for the trip to Katherine’s, we will write off Spring Break, 2013.
