Boy Scout Troop 116 Freeze O Ree
2012! The camping trip last weekend had to be one of
, if not the coldest camping trip either
of my boys have been on. Normal cold is
bad enough, but cold with forty mile an hour winds bringing the temperature to
what felt like four degrees is frigid!
However, Daniel prepared well for it. It was wilderness survival which meant no tents....no toilet. Daniel had two tarps and had me take him to Walmart for tent stakes and string. He packed warm clothes, gloves, hand warmers, fixings for hot chocolate (including sterno to heat his own water), and extra warm blankets. I think the boys had a good time despite the cold.
